International Watch Company has the most unique origin amongst the great makers of watches. Founded by an American engineer from Boston, Flortine Ariosto Jones established in Schaffhausen in 1868.
The company has experienced changing fortune but today is amongst the most vibrant and respected and affluent of the elite brands. Purchased by Richemont SA in the year 2000 the brand prospers and the reputation has never been higher. The brand continually demonstrates its technical expertise by producing high watchmaking products such as Grand Complication, Minute Repeater and Perpetual Calendar. The most popular models enjoy a following among discriminating collectors and the modest prices compared to the quality makes it very acceptable for the afficianado.
There is a simplicity and elegance to the designs and the continuity of product is recognized in new releases. Big Pilot, The New Vintage collection, Portuguese Chronograph and Perpetual and the Tourbillon Mystere are all frequently asked for. We recommend the IWC product with special emphasis on limited edition models. The future appreciation is unlikely or modest in some cases. Discounts are typically 30% to 40% and 20% to 30% for limited pieces with a few exceptions. Previously owned watches sell at 50% original suggested prices.
