The modern lineage of Ulysse Nardin dates from the acquisition of the company in 1983 and the energy and vitality of Rolf Schnyder. The legacy of Ulysse Nardin and the brand’s reputation found an able champion and a skilled entrepreneur that has built a notable example of a Haute Horology producer.
The history was founded in 1846, but this is a new incarnation and significant achievement in building a brand and elite timepieces that are the banner from which the reputation comes. The firm has produced significant achievements such as the Astrolabium Galileo Galilei, the Tellurium Johannes Kepler, Minute Repeaters, Tourbillon and revolutionary Perpetual Calendars named for the genius behind all these creations, Dr. Ludwig Oechslin.
Notably popular and recognized as modestly priced in comparison to other comparable products. The watches are excellent quality for value. Appreciation is doubtful with a few exceptions. Typical discounts range from 30% to 40% off suggested retail with the exception of some limited edition models which can be found from 10% to 20% off msrp. Previously owned watches sell at 50% original levels or more.
